Clothing System

Staying Warm Outdoors Means Staying Dry.

At Wolfsong Wear, we’ve created a layering system that allows you to regulate your body temperature and avoid overheating, as well as protects you from the elements. A layering system consists of a base layer (long underwear), an insulating layer and a shell. A good system adjusts to your varying activity level (and heat) and delivers moisture away from your body to the outside (breathes). The shell needs to protect you from the wind, rain, and snow, be durable, and allow moisture to escape from inside.

Natural Materials Work With Your Body.

We pride ourselves on using natural materials for all our Wolfsong Wear products. Wool breathes better, wicks moisture better, insulates better, repels odors and lasts longer than synthetics (and won’t melt around the campfire!). Waxed Canvas breathes better than synthetics, is extremely durable and protects you from wind, snow and rain. It is also flame and spark resistant (passes U.S. Flammability Test). Real Fur provides essential protection from biting cold and wind, and there’s nothing like the softness and performance of this natural, renewable resource.

Our Wolfsong System Works All Year.

Winter: Many people wear our Jacket or Parka as their primary winter coat. For windy days, extreme cold, or activities like downhill skiing or ice fishing where wind protection is necessary, the Nor’easter goes over the Parka, Jacket, or Vest. Fall & Spring: The Vest or Jacket and Nor’easter can be worn by themselves or together for wind and rain protection and warmth. Summer: The Vest and Nor’easter can be worn by themselves or together. The Nor’easter provides great wind and rain protection and the Vest is lightweight enough for cool days.
